Job Description
The Audio Video Tech Assistant's core responsibility is to assist IMS professional staff members in activities related to class & event support, as well as the upgrading/installation and maintenance of classroom AV systems. These systems contain AV equipment such as projectors, displays, digital media presentation switchers, touch panels, document cameras, power conditioners and apple TV’s.
Duties may include the following activities:
- CLASS & EVENT SUPPORT
- Set-up and operation of various types of audio/visual and computer equipment
- Work in a variety of campus locations with AV equipment; including camcorders, video and projectors, microphones and sound systems, etc.
- Set up computers to various display devices
- Recording lectures and high profile events using video and or audio equipment
- Editing video content
- EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
- Breaking down and removal of old equipment
- Inventorying, un-boxing and installation of new equipment
- Cabling equipment by wiring/system diagrams
- Assisting in configuring and commissioning of AV classroom systems
- Maintenance of existing systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of computers and general AV technology
- Experience in the proper use of hand and power tools
- Excellent organizational skills, punctuality, and Interpersonal Skills
- Ready and willing to learn.
- Possess strong verbal and written skills
Job Requirements
No experience is necessary, but the applicant should have a basic understanding of AV and be willing to learn and perform the duties described in the description above.
