This article is for how to stop mail from being forwarded from your Microsoft 365 account, to your personal/external email address.
Many email providers will reject or mark as spam forwarded email. Because of this, we strongly recommend that you disable forwarding if you have it setup, and check your New Paltz email account directly and do not forward it, for the most reliable delivery of email.
If you have forwarding enabled and want to disable it, follow the steps below.
- Login to your New Paltz email account via outlook.newpaltz.edu.
- Click the gear icon at the top right.
- Choose "View all Outlook Settings" at the bottom.
- Look for the Forwarding option in the second column from the left, and click on it.
- Make sure the Enable Forwarding box is unchecked as in the screenshot below.
- Click Save at the bottom right when done.
