Panopto Live Streaming - Desktop Software

STEP ONE - Prepare the Webcast Session

• Log in via newpaltz.hosted.panopto.com
• Select the blue Create button in the top right
• Choose Webcast from the drop down list
  • 
• Complete the Create Webcast fields
  • Note that Sharing must be checked for people outside of SUNY New Paltz to watch
  • 
• Find and hover over the session in your Panopto library and select the Share button to get the link for viewing the live stream
  • 
     

STEP TWO - Launch the Webcast Session

• Select the blue Create button in the top right
• Choose Panopto For Windows from the drop down list
  • 
• Launch or download and install the appropriate version of Panopto for your computer if not yet installed
  • 
• Make sure your Video Camera and Microphone are appropriately selected under Primary Sources
• Select any Secondary Sources you may have for content
• Select the blue Join Session button at the top right and choose your previously scheduled Webcast
• Press the Record button on the top left, this will begin simultaneous recording and live streaming
