How do I clear my browser cache/cookies?

If you are experiencing issues with campus systems, try clearing your browser cache and cookies.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome and click on the three vertical dots in the top right.
  2. Click on "More Tools"
  3. Select "Clear Browsing Data".
  4. A window will pop-up in your Browser. Use the menu on the top to select how far back in time you want to go.  If you're experiencing issues you may want to set "Time range" to "All time".  (Note: Failure to set time range to "All time" means that doing this won't fix issues that would be fixed if the time range were set to all time).
  5. Check what you want to delete.  We recommend choosing "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" if you are doing this to troubleshoot an error on a site. When you are finished checking boxes select "Clear data".  Please note: this may take several minutes to complete depending on the amount of data to clear.

Firefox (Mozilla)

  1. Open Firefox and look for the menu icon at the top right (it looks like three horizontal lines on top of each other).
  2. Click "History".
  3. Click "Clear Recent History".
  4. Adjust the time range to the amount of time you wish to delete from.  If you are doing this to fix an issue with a site - we recommend you set "Time range to clear" to "Everything".
  5. Check the appropriate boxes under history for what you want to clear.  If you are doing this to fix an issue with a site - we recommend at least clearing: "Active Logins", "Cookies", and "Cache".
  6. Click OK.  Please note: this may take several minutes to complete depending on the amount of data to clear.
