Remotely Connecting To The Campus Using GlobalProtect Agent

GlobalProtect Agent Use Instructions (for Windows and macOS users)

 

GlobalProtect Agent should already be installed and available on campus managed laptops. If you are using a personal device you'll need to obtain and install the GlobalProtect agent software. See our article Installing GlobalProtect Agent for download links.

 

Instructions for Windows:

  1. In the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, near the system clock, a gray globe icon should be present in the system tray
  2. Left click this icon to open the GlobalProtect connection screen
    • If this is your first time opening the application, you may see a prompt with an option to “Get Started” you can click this to proceed to the connection screen

  1. If the “Portal” field is blank, the following address should be entered: gp.newpaltz.edu
  2. Click “Connect”

  1. Once the sign-in prompt appears, use your @newpaltz.edu email and password to authenticate. (This will ask for a two-factor code)

  1. After a few moments, the globe icon in the system tray should be a bluish color. If you click on the icon, it should display a screen saying “Connected”
  2. When you are finished using the campus network, you can open this menu and click “Disconnect” to terminate the connection.
