VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) is a service that allows users to remotely access a variety of software programs provided by the college.

We have two different systems available:

  1. General use for Faculty, Staff and Students - through VMWare, available at vdi.newpaltz.edu.
  2. Computer Science Students using the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) platform.

Features and Benefits: 

  • VDI works with PC and Mac platforms, as well as with Apple (iOS) and Android mobile devices.
  • Users can work anytime and anywhere they have an Internet connection.
  • Users can remotely access specialized application software available in the Computer Labs and Offices.
