One place to purchase software for personal use is from the site "OnTheHub.com" 

1. Goto OnTheHub.com
2. Click on "FIND YOUR SCHOOL" drop down
3. Select "College & University"
4. Select United States and New York for Country and State/Province respectively
5. Then, in the School box, select "Suny-New Paltz"
6. In the Blue bar that appears below the school field, Click on the link "SUNY New Paltz Webstore"
7. On the top bar select "Student" or "Faculty/Staff"
8. Choose the software manufacturer or "More Software" to see available and prices
9. Add software to cart and purchase
