Overview

Information Technology Services offers hardwired internet connections in offices, academic, and residential spaces.

Features and Benefits:

  • Your connection is protected behind the campus firewall.
  • Wired connections provide a more consistent access to the campus network than wireless can provide.

Authorized Users:

  • Students
  • Faculty
  • Staff

Request Process:

  • Students will automatically have access as soon as they are registered for a course, or matriculated.
  • Faculty/staff who have other computer accounts (email, computer labs, etc.) already have access.
  • New faculty and staff who need accounts should have their department request access via the Account Request page

User Responsibility:


Requirements and Prerequisites:

  • You must be a current employee, enrolled student, or authorized affiliate or guest (see request process, above) and have a valid New Paltz User ID (NPCUID) and password to access the wired network.
  • Students must provide their own Ethernet cable to connect to wired ports in their rooms; cords are also available for loan from the Help Desk.
  • Game consoles and/or media device must be registered: go to access.newpaltz.edu to register your console or device.

Hours of Availability:

  • The wired network is available all hours.

Customer costs:

  • The wired network is free to all authorized users.
