1. Please Note: only proceed if you have already installed the VMware Horizon View Client following the steps in the article: "How do I install an Apple OSX VDI Client?"
2. From your dock, double-click on the icon for the VMware Horizon View Client.
3. On the next screen, double-click on the icon that says vdi.newpaltz.edu.
4. Enter your New Paltz username and password; then, click Login.
5. On the next screen, double-click the desktop you would like to use.
6. When the desktop loads, you are in the virtual environment and you can navigate as you would any lab computer.
Please Note: if you were not asked to connect your USB drive while following the steps in the article "How do I install an Apple OSX VDI Client?," you will now need to follow a few additional steps to be able to properly save your work.
A. Select Connection and then USB and then Start remote desktop USB services.
B. When the dialog box opens, select Continue.
C. When you are asked, enter your Mac Administrator Name and Password (not your New Paltz username and password). If you are prompted to provide the server name, enter vdi.newpaltz.edu.
7. Important: When you are working in the virtual environment ALL work MUST be saved to a USB drive; any work not saved to an external drive will be lost when you disconnect and log off.
8. Important: When your virtual session is complete, you MUST open the options menu and choose Quit VMware Horizon Client.
9. On the next screen, you will be asked to confirm that you want to end your session; select Yes to complete the logoff process.
