VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) is a service that allows users to remotely access a variety of software programs provided by the college.  We use the VMWare VDI system, available at vdi.newpaltz.edu.

  • VDI works with PC and Mac platforms, as well as with Apple (iOS) and Android mobile devices.
  • Users can work anytime and anywhere they have an internet connection.
  • Users can remotely access specialized application software available in the computer labs.       
  • Printing on your own printer

Request Process

  • Authorized users have access to VDI with their New Paltz username and password.

User Responsibility

  • The user must install the appropriate VDI program or app on their computer or device.
  • See the related articles on the right for platform or device specific instructions. 

Requirements and Prerequisite

  • You are free to install the VDI program/app on any personal computer(s) or device(s).
  • Some VDI sessions may limit the number of users who can log in at one time.

  • This service is available at all hours.

  • There is no fee for this service.
