WebEx - Using WebEx As A Meeting Invitee

If you have received a WebEx invitation, follow the steps below to join the meeting.

You will need a webcam, microphone, and speakers/headphones.

*You do not need a WebEx account if you are not the host of the meeting.

Overview Of Joining A WebEx Meeting


Receiving The Invitation

  • You will receive an invitation via email.
  • The email will list the details of the meeting i.e. date, time, etc.
  • When it is time to join the meeting, click the link provided in the email.

 


Joining The Meeting

  • Once you have clicked the link, the WebEx software will automatically download if not previously installed.
  • Click "Run" when prompted.
  • The WebEx software will open and you will enter the Meeting

 


Connecting Audio & Video

  • Once you have entered the Meeting, you must connect your audio and video to be heard and seen. A pop up box will appear once the meeting has loaded. Because WebEx is a meeting style program, it does not automatically connect audio and video for you.

  • If you close this box and do not connect you audio and video, you can do this at a later point in time if needed. On the left side of the screen, click the "Call Using Computer" button to connect your microphone and speakers to the meeting.

  • On the right side of the screen, click the "Start My Video" button to connect your webcam to the meeting

  • Other meeting participants will now be able to see and hear you.
