Overview:
Shell accounts provide authorized users with the web space necessary to design, program, and maintain a webpage. The system can be used for general web design coursework, but more advanced web programming coursework should be completed on other systems.

User Responsibility:
- Users should follow all applicable information technology policies including:
- This system should not be used for courses in the Computer Science or Engineering major programs. There are alternate resources available for those systems
Requirements and Prerequisites:
- Access to a SFTP program (ex. WinSCP)
- Shell Account users must have web design ability, or should be able to use a web editing tool; IT does not provide support for website design, coding, or other aspects of building the site.
Hours of Availability:
- The shell.newpaltz.edu server is available at all hours.
